CB Gaelic Society

Gaelic Language Classes

Classroom Method

The Gaelic Society offers three levels of language classes - beginner, intermediate, and advanced. These classes are taught in a combination of English and Gaelic and focus on learning to speak and write the language. Each class is followed by tea and sweets. Also, all class levels come together at 8:00 for an hour of Gaelic song led by Kay MacDonald. Classes are held over two terms : September through November and March through May. Next Registration date to be announced.

TIP Immersion Method

TIP offers students a way of learning to comfortably speak Gaelic without using the written language. Without speaking English or writing things down, students learn by repeating phrases and connecting them with objects, pictures, or actions - similar to the way children naturally learn their first language. The Gaelic Society offers both beginner and advanced levels of instruction. For more information on TIP, click here.
